What is split the G?

Do you split the G or the harp?

Despite the minimal rules in this game, there is some debate over the ‘right’ way to pull off the Guinness challenge, with some dedicated drinkers suggesting that you should drink until the line of stout is between the top of the G and the bottom of the harp.

What is the correct way to Split the G?

To avoid any confusion, however, the most common way of playing the game (as the name suggests) is to drink until the black of the pint is directly in line with the line in the middle of the G, thereby successfully splitting the g on the Guinness. This means the line of the classic foamy top is disregarded.
